A course that fits

Start where
you are.

Still relying on automatic mode? Start with OFF AUTO for exposure, aperture, shutter speed, light and composition. Choose private tutoring if you want the same six-session foundation on a schedule we agree together, on your own or with close friends.

Comfortable with your camera and interested in food? FOOD 101 covers food lighting, styling and the practical side of a commercial shoot. OFF AUTO is the starting point, but you can ask to skip it if you already shoot confidently outside automatic mode.

Already making food photographs? FOOD 102 builds on FOOD 101 or demonstrated commercial food work. It focuses on flash, studio lighting and Photoshop retouching.

Your teacher

Karim Ramadan.
Learning by doing.

I’m a self-taught commercial photographer based in Beirut. My work spans food, product and tabletop photography at MMNT Productions, landscape photographs for print, and teaching.

My courses follow the decisions I had to learn to make: what the light is doing, what stays sharp, what belongs in the frame, and how to know what to change next.

A few
useful answers.

Are the photography courses online or in Beirut?

I’m based in Beirut. The group courses are taught live on Google Meet, so you can join from Lebanon without travelling to a classroom. For private tutoring, we agree on the schedule and session arrangements before booking.

How much does private tutoring cost for friends?

The full six-session private OFF AUTO course costs $350 total. You can book it for one person or share that total with a close group of friends. Direct WhatsApp access for photography questions and advice is included.

When do the next group courses begin?

All next group dates are TBA. Use the interest-list link on your chosen course page to hear when its dates are announced. Private tutoring is scheduled by agreement.

What camera or equipment do I need?

OFF AUTO and private tutoring are for beginners with a DSLR or mirrorless camera. FOOD 101 needs a camera you can shoot manually, a tripod and a window. FOOD 102 needs a strobe or speedlight with manual control, a trigger, a modifier and Photoshop for the retouching sessions. Check the equipment section on the course page, or message me before buying anything.

Can I ask which course suits me before booking?

Yes. Tell me what camera you use, what you already know and what you would like to photograph. You can send examples of your work on WhatsApp so we can discuss where to start.

Tell me where
you’re starting.

Your camera, what you want to photograph, and what is getting in the way.
